The Metropolitan Emergency Communications Council (MECC) supports amateur radio emergency communications in a variety of ways, in compliance with FCC regulations. Our purpose is to hold meetings, which provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information pertaining to emergency and public service communications. Also, to foster cooperation and networking among amateur radio emergency communications organizations in the area, while providing a resource to request mutual aid between members.
